Business basics with the Ohio SBDC
The Hudson
Library & Historical Society’s Burton D. Morgan Center for
Entrepreneurship Research will offer a “Business Basics”
workshop on Thursday, September 24th at 6:30 p.m. as part
of the library’s Fall 2009 Entrepreneurship Series. Certified
Business Advisor Jim Griggy, of the Ohio Small Business Development
Center (OSBDC) at the Summit Medina Business Alliance
in Akron, will present a comprehensive program for aspiring or
already established small business owners and managers.
The workshop is for individuals that are interested in starting
their own business or have recently started a business operation.
The program addresses the planning process, initial financial
projections, ownership options, review of the required forms, as
well as loan options and additional funding availability.
Participants will receive the business plan outline during the
session.
Jim Griggy
is a Certified Business Advisor for the OSBDC. Before joining the
Summit Medina Business Alliance, Mr. Griggy was
worked as Director of Finance where he was in charge of accounting,
finance, franchisee compliance, risk management and
intellectual property at SRA International, the franchisor of
Sanford Rose Associates executive recruiting offices. His years of
experience have specialized in formal training presentations and
one-on-one business counseling. Prior to his role in Finance,
Mr. Griggy was responsible for all aspects of Information Technology
for SRA International and earlier managed a team of
recruiters and helped coordinate specialized job fairs for high tech
industries. Mr. Griggy holds a B.S. in Industrial Management
with a concentration in Personnel, B.S. in Computer Science and a
B.A. in French – all from the University of Akron.
