Fans of
historical fiction, artful storytelling and New York Times
bestselling authors won’t want to miss “An Evening with Tracy
Chevalier” on Tuesday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hudson Library &
Historical Society. The author will discuss her life and work
and answer questions from the audience. An assortment of her novels

historical authenticity and artistic intuition to mark Chevalier as
a talented newcomer to the literary scene.” The novel received the

worldwide.
A steady
succession of popular titles followed, all based on authentic
historical figures and events:
“Falling Angels” (2001),
“The Lady and the Unicorn” (2003), “Burning Bright” (2007) and most
recently “Remarkable Creatures” (2009).Her fist novel,
“The Virgin Blue,” was published in 1997 and was reissued after the
success of “The Girl with the Pearl Earring.”
Born and raised
in Washington, D.C., Chevalier earned her B.A. in English at Oberlin
College, after which she moved to England
in 1984 where she worked as a reference book editor. She received
her M.A. in creative writing from the University of East
Anglia, Norwich, England in the early 1990s and has lived in London
